Underwater Pulsed Eddy Current (PEC) Probes

PEC Solution for Underwater Applications

Underwater PEC probes are specifically designed to detect corrosion hidden under marine growth or coatings. Measure the remaining wall thickness without surface preparation in offshore applications such as risers, jetty piles, caissons, and underwater piping systems.

Features

  • Tackle deep offshore applications
  • Depth rated to 100 m (330 ft)
  • Embedded control LEDs
  • Support components up to 100 mm (4 in) thickness
  • Support marine growth up to 305 mm (12 in)
  • Choice of 50 m (165 ft) or 100 m (330 ft) cable

Details

Underwater probes can tackle offshore applications through marine growth without surface preparation. They are watertight down to 100 m (330 ft) and feature a long cable. The probes are operated with the proven Lyft® PEC system.

The status LEDs embedded in the probes ensure better control and synchronization of the diver with the topside inspection team. The probes can scan components as thick as 100 mm (4 in), as well as insulation and marine growth as thick as 300 mm (12 in).
