From: Thursday, May 4, 2017

Eddyfi brings major functional and productivity improvement to its industry-leading Magnifi data acquisition and analysis software.

As a world leader in electromagnetic inspection technologies, Eddyfi is proud to launch the latest upgrade of its data acquisition and analysis software—Magnifi® 4. With this new version, Eddyfi confirms its commitment to the efficiency of its software. With an entire team dedicated to software, the company is able to respond to the constant demands of the continually growing user base, which plays a major role in customer productivity and satisfaction. The ever-evolving Magnifi has seen many improvements over the years, but this latest upgrade brings about major changes intended to increase user productivity in their electromagnetic non-destructive testing, whatever the technology they are using, whether it be ECT, ECA, RFT, NFT, or IRIS.

Overhauled User Interface

Magnifi’s user interface was completely redesigned to reflect current best practices. This overhaul makes the software easier to use and more intuitive to learn, which means experienced users can be back to work quickly and new users need less specialized knowledge to be up and running and efficient. Magnifi now features ribbon-style menus and the interface design makes managing projects much simpler, minimizing lost time.

The goal of redesigning the Magnifi user interface was to make it more efficient. It is now possible to quickly open projects from reloaded data, instead of having to perform this as two separate tasks. Inspection setups, data, reports, and screenshots are always synchronized, so no more shuffling about looking for “missing” information. “Smart folders” offer a variety of easy-to-understand information about the files they contain such as their status, whether they are notes or images, and whether they contain review tags, to name only a few.

In Magnifi 4, data layouts are easier to manage and customize, making it possible to display data just the way users like it, increasing efficiency.

Better, Faster Configuration

Magnifi now makes configuration much easier than before by introducing several new configuration wizards and improvements to existing ones. The Eddyfi I-Flex™ and Sharck™ surface probes now have their dedicated configuration wizards, setting up the inspection in next to no time. Landmarks also have their own dedicated wizard, making them easier to take into account during inspections. Magnifi 4 also introduces air conditioner eddy current testing, getting inspections ready in no time. Finally, the existing IRIS UT configuration wizard now includes new Eddyfi accessorie, recommended based on tube dimensions.

Overall Better Productivity

Magnifi now starts acquiring data faster than before, users can simply right-click to load the next file of a report entry, create keyboard shortcuts to specific functions, tag indications for review, and use manual sequences, which will all contribute to increase the overall productivity of users in their ECT, ECA, RFT, NFT, NFA, MFL, and IRIS inspections.

Magnifi 4 also features vastly improved data processing and reporting, which also contribute to enhance the productivity of long-time and new users.

Magnifi Ecosystem

With the release of Magnifi 4, the Magnifi software ecosystem grows. It now includes Magnifi GO, running on Reddy® instruments, and Magnifi R, the desktop software for Reddy data available for free to service plan subscribers.
