Les Ulis (Paris), France, March 2nd, 2021 - Eddyfi Technologies is pleased to announce the latest release of Capture™ data acquisition and analysis software version 3.2, the user interface for M2M Gekko® and Mantis™ portable phased array inspection instruments. Since 2013, this powerful software has continuously evolved based on industry feedback, offering ease of use for sophisticated ultrasound imaging to thousands of users worldwide.
With over eight years of Total Focusing Method (TFM) experience in the field, Capture 3.2 brings a comprehensive suite of TFM options with multimode and multi-group capabilities. This update keeps inspectors ahead of the curve: TFM was introduced to ASME code in 2019, and the ISO standard is in the final stage before publication. Because Standards require most weld inspections be performed on both sides of the weld, Capture 3.2 allows technicians to use multiple phased array (PAUT) probes at the same time on each side of the weld, combining TFM modes for better defect detection and characterization.
In terms of productivity, substantial improvements have been implemented with this new software release. The ability to compute the TFM image envelope with optimized amplitude fidelity is an impressive efficiency gain. Moreover, a 60% scanning speed improvement for TFM images —with 100% inspection of a 25-millimeter (1-inch) thick weld in a single pass offering a speed up to 100 millimeters (4 inches) per second— combined with video smoothing ensures a crisper image quality. Capture 3.2 introduces embedded scan plan tools to assist with Time-of-Flight-Diffraction (TOFD), PAUT, and TFM configurations to ensure maximum coverage and code compliance. Beyond data acquisition, new analysis features and pre-defined parameters ease reporting with automatically populated indication tables for corrosion mapping.
As the first NDT manufacturer to provide a portable PAUT instrument with TFM to the market, Eddyfi Technologies continues to lead the technological revolution with improved performance and assurance of code compliant inspections, ultimately leading to better asset integrity management programs.
