Eddyfi Technologies support the STEM initiative, giving local young students an insight into our industry and challenging them with a real world engineering task.
STEM are dedicated to raising young people’s engagement and achievement in science, technology, engineering and mathematics subjects and careers.
This is the latest educational initiative that has been embraced and supported through Eddyfi Technologies and it is our intention to continue to increase the link between academia and industry.
Engineer a working prototype of a water recycling system that can be used on Silverwing Rapid Motion Scanner (RMS) corrosion mapping system.
Eddyfi Technologies Principle Scientist, Professor Neil Pearson commented, “to reduce water usage, help the environment and assist inspections in remote locations such as desserts, the ability to recycle the water would be a significant benefit to the Eddyfi product line and the users.
From our perspective it’s important to give our students an insight into our industry, an industry that doesn’t get much attention during career choices. From the students perspective they get the chance to work on real life problems, work as a team and find solutions. I’ve been impressed with the level of interaction from today’s students, they have some really good ideas and I’m looking forward to the second session.”
