A vertical integration to drastically reduce new product development cycles and probe lead times.
As a world leader in advanced inspection systems and niche NDT solutions, Eddyfi Technologies is proud to confirm the acquisition of IPN Machining (IPN), a high-precision machine shop in Québec.
For over 25 years, the company has been machining high-precision parts for a variety of industries, including healthcare, test and measurement, and the energy sector. Although primarily focused on the Canadian market, IPN has also acted as an industrial subcontractor in the European and US markets.
“Having a better control of our supply chain was becoming essential,” said Martin Thériault, President and CEO of Eddyfi. “Machined parts are critical to our operations, especially for the surface and tubing product lines, and their availability at the right time, price, and quality has a huge impact on our business and our customers. In addition, it is obvious that having a team of in-house, experienced machinists interacting with our mechanical designers will have a positive impact on the quality, effectiveness, and cost of our products,” he added.
Considering Eddyfi’s needs for machined parts has grown extremely fast over the last few years and the growth outlook is still significant, the need to integrate machining capabilities became obvious. Eddyfi’s general manager, John McCormick commented: “I am pleased to welcome IPN’s former president, Luc Arseneault, to our team. He will be responsible for managing our precision machining activities. We will continue to operate out of the current facility for the time being, but I look forward to the day when we integrate machining capabilities into new, world-class premises here in Québec.”
With this vertical acquisition, Eddyfi Technologies further accelerates its scaling and growth with added manufacturing capabilities and flexibility.
