This #InuktunInTheWild sighting features our Inuktun Versatrax 150™ Analog pipe inspection vehicle spotted at an onshore pumping station. Seen here in its natural habitat, the VT150A robotic crawler was utilized for internal inspections of an oil production line.

As most inspectors know, it’s pretty rare to find a remote visual inspection (RVI) project that does not come with some challenges. In this case, though, changing pipe diameters [from 12 inches (300mm) to 11 (280mm) inches] were easily handled with the addition of a traction enhancement mechanism, a standard option that helps not only with changing conditions, but also with overall pulling power.

Inuktun InCommand Robotics’ Operations Manager, Wes Kirkland, confirmed, “The adaptability of Inuktun’s Multi-Mission Modular technology is really a game changer in the field. Having been onsite at this inspection, I can tell you that the traction enhancement add-on makes a huge difference.”

The Versatrax 150™ Analog pipe crawler system is a robust workhorse designed for the inspection of long pipelines, tunnels, culverts and other confined areas with a limited number of access points. Offered in parallel or inline configuration, the vehicle can traverse a wide range of pipe diameters. The robotic crawler is readily adaptable for different Spectrum™ cameras, sensors and tooling to perform comprehensive inspections across a range of industries.
